The Bidayuh Bamboo baskets

Traditionally, basket plays an important part in the life of the native tribe who dwell and hunt in the forest and paddy plantation. As such, the Bidayuhs in Sarawak has over the years developed a series of basket for different functions. Beside the rattan series of Tambok and Lanjit, the bamboo baskets are yet another contribution. However, these heritage is slowly vanishing due to its difficult process of preparation and its tedious weaving styles and technique.
